Hybrid occupancy changes the specification
A Sydney office that is full on Tuesday and half-empty on Friday does not need the same clean five days a week. We split the scope: bathrooms, kitchens and bins on a frequency driven by use, workstations and meeting rooms on another, and periodic work scheduled separately. It is a smaller invoice than a uniform daily service and a better result than a daily service stretched thin.
Hot-desking and clear-desk reality
Shared desks are cleaned properly only if the policy and the cleaning scope agree with each other. Where a clear-desk policy is genuinely enforced, desks get a full wipe-down; where it is not, we agree in writing what the team will and will not move, so nothing is thrown out and nothing is skipped by default. Screens, keyboards and phones are treated as a separate line item rather than assumed.
Kitchens, end-of-trip and waste streams
The three things that generate the most complaints in a Sydney office are the kitchen, the end-of-trip facilities and the bins. Coffee machines, dishwashers, fridges and microwaves need scheduled attention, not opportunistic wiping; showers and change rooms need daily service in buildings that have them; and separated waste streams only stay separated if the cleaning team knows which bin goes where on collection day.
